My Story

I was born and raised in Houston, TX, the youngest of four children. I was raised by my grandmother. As the youngest, I always had a vivid imagination, escaping into the world of toys and reading. I was a precocious child and stayed in trouble most of the time.  I was always searching for me. As I grew older, certain insecurities began to develop and I internalized many aspects of daily life. At the age of 14, I smoked Marijuana for the first time. It was not something that I desired to do, it was something that I felt necessary to do. I wanted to be a part of something, a place to escape, and a desperate need to be accepted. By the age of 21, I was using Cocaine and Alcohol regularly. My distorted reality became my life and an unsafe lifestyle. I developed a sense of security by keeping myself shut off from the real problems I faced. It was my protection that shielded me from people and the world around me, but what I wanted, was to love myself and to be loved. It wasn’t until I sought help that I began to understand myself and others around me. After many years of self-exploration, therapy, and faith in God, I am now free, free to share my story.

My passion to help children was born out of countless counseling sessions with men and women who have biologically and physically grown into adulthood but who have emotional unresolved childhoods. Issues that were maladaptive, unrealistic, and followed into adulthood.

I believe in the power of growth, development, and a sheer desire for children to grow into the healthy adults they were meant to become.

Children and teens face many challenges today. They do not have to face these challenges alone. There is support. There is healing. There is hope.
