About Me

Hello and welcome to Saving Grace Children & Adolescent Counseling Center. I am Nicole Stelivan, MA, LCDC LPC, a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor, with 21 years of experience providing counseling and treatment of co-occurring disorders and 17 years as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. My academic training includes a Bachelor degree in Psychology from University of Houston - Victoria and a Masters degree in Counseling from Prairie View A & M University. I am trained in CBT-Cognitive Behavior Therapy, DBT- Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Seeking Safety, Play Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy.

I utilize a person-centered approach to therapy that is a collaborative relationship between the therapist and client, enabling the client to recognize strengths and goals for sustaining a life free of substance abuse, addiction, and the recognition of maladaptive behaviors. Through the use of play therapy techniques, an imaginative self-process allowing children self-expression and the ability to tell his/her story.
